Effective with the upcoming season, the National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) is implementing a new rule change to increase the minimum recommended size of high school pole vault pads. Rule 7, Section 5, Article 8 now requires the landing pad beyond the vault box to be a minimum of 19'8"W x 16'5"D (previous minimums of 16'W x 12'D). It also requires 2" of foam padding between the planting box and all pads.

In light of recent events in the sport, participant safety has become a heightened focal point. Each school is responsible for examining and assessing their own pole vault equipment according to the NFHS requirements. Idaho Sewing's professional staff is ready to help you with your evaluations.
